Ads For Criminal Lawyers Are Everywhere

Business.

Why would i want to locate a criminal lawyer? - ads for criminal lawyers are everywhere. However, even though you have almost certainly been inundated with the large number of advertisements that make up the advertising frenzy that is often related to the field of criminal law, you may still not realize why there are so many criminal lawyers out there.

In truth, you have probably seen them on TV, seen signs with the ads, glanced at them in phone books, seen them on virtually every website, disregarded their existence on fliers, and heard about them on the radio. - unfortunately, the the reality is that you may still need one at some time in the future. This being the case, what are some of the crimes that people may need a criminal lawyer for? This is a result of the fact that there are a myriad of illegal acts that people carry out much more often than you may realize and, these individuals may, therefore want to find a criminal lawyer. The first reason that an individual may require the services of a skilled criminal lawyer is if the individual was was arrested for DUI. S. as surveys indicate that there are approximately 159 million people in the U. DUI is actually a widespread problem in the U.

S. driving under the influence of alcohol each year. - in order to prevent as many drunk driving accidents as possible, state legislatures and law enforcement officials throughout the country have been cracking down on individuals that drive under the influence. This fact alone may seem amazing as most people understand that driving under the influence is extremely unsafe, but it is still estimated that one person is fatally injured as the result of a drunk driving accident every 39 minutes. This means that you may be asked to stop, you may lose, arrested your license, you may go to prison, and/ or be fined if you are caught driving while intoxicated and that you will require the assistance of. It may seem like a frightening statistic to think about, but there are over 5 million domestic assaults each year and this doesn' t even include all of the assaults committed against people outside of an individual' s family so the crime of assault occurs all too often within the U. Secondly, an individual may need to hire a criminal lawyer if the individual is arrested for assault. As a result, it is much more likely that you will be placed under arrest and may end up in jail if you assault someone.

This is a major concern in many areas as most states have taken action to seriously increase the penalties associated with assault, specifically in regards to domestic assault, and have begun to establish a chain of regulations regarding how domestic assaults have to be addressed by law enforcement officials. - the best thing that you can really do in this situation is to find an experienced criminal lawyer to to take your case. Nearly 1, 000 people are, 800 arrested each year for drug possession in the U. A third and final reason in which an individual might need to hire a criminal lawyer is if the individual was caught with drugs in his or her possession. S. , which accounts for approximately 11% of all of the arrests made throughout the United States each year. The old saying" possession is 9/ 10 of the law" may hold more truth than you realize as you will be arrested, if you are, and possibly convicted even in the in the same area as an illegal substance. These figures may be startling, but there is an important thing that you should keep in mind.

This means that you may need a criminal lawyer even if you had no idea there were drugs in the area.

Many People Think That We Consented To Pay Taxes In The Constitution

Business.

Taxation - every year when tax day comes along, people start talking about" tax fairness. " yet strangely, i hear very few people discuss the fairness of taxation itself. In particular, what right does the government have to take money from people who never consented to pay? What right does the government have to force people to pay for services that they may not even want?

Almost everyone sees that consent is the proper moral foundation for other relationships. - unless we can show that we really consent to pay taxes, we cannot avoid the parallel maxim: if a taxpayer says no, it' s theft. To take one eloquent slogan: If a woman says no, it' s rape. Many people think that we consented to pay taxes in the Constitution. However, no one alive today ever signed the Constitution, so how could it bind them? The cherished myth behind our own Constitution as well as those of many other countries is that at one pristine time, the people consented to all of the seemingly involuntary practices we endure today.

Parents could only bind themselves, much less all, not their children their descendents throughout history. - the minority voters might well protest that no one else has the power to offer their consent for them. Moreover, the consent that ratified the Constitution was merely the consent of various voting majorities, who" consented" not merely for themselves but for those who expressly denied the Constitution their consent. A person can only offer consent for himself or herself, not for another. But this just begs the central question: Why can' t I both remain in this country and refuse to pay taxes? Other people think that we consent to pay taxes merely by living in the country. If a kindergarten bully told his classmates that they" really" consented to get beaten up since they could go to another school instead, we could only laugh at his effrontery: for the bully has no right to present this unfair choice in the first place.

I can only conclude that for all its claim to virtue, government fundamentally rests on injustice, the injustice of taking money from people without their consent. - similarly, only after it can be shown that i am breaking a voluntary agreement by refusing to pay taxes could my consent be inferred from my decision to remain within the boundaries of the united states. Everyone who complains that current taxes are unfair is perfectly correct. It was precisely this conclusion that led Thoreau, the most famous critic of the morality of taxation, to this startling position: "I hearily accept the motto, - 'That government is best which governs least; ' and I should like to see it acted up to more rapidly and systematically. But the problem with taxation is not its distribution, but its very existence. Carried out, it finally amounts to this, which I also believe, - 'That government is best which governs not at all; ' and when men are prepared for it, that will be the kind of government which they will have. " To most people, this conclusion sounds so impractical that they can only reply: We will never be prepared for that kind of government! And the voluntary, consensual alternatives to taxation are many.

But I prefer to at least consider the alternatives to taxation before I resignedly endorse so great an injustice. - most obviously, there is the free market. Many of the largest functions of modern governments could easily be supplied privately: education, old - age pensions, medical insurance. If people need something, they can pay others to produce it for them. While economists frequently defend the power of the market to deliver the goods, they easily give up in despair when profit - making business seems to be an unworkable solution. Markets are not the only sort of voluntary organization: extended family, homeowners, clubs' associations, merchants' associations, and self - help groups could supply everything from a safety net to streets, and police protection, fire.

But where traditional business fails, perhaps the solution is not tax - funded services but a different sort of voluntary and mutually beneficial arrangement. - finally, there is private charity: over$ 120billion dollars strong in 199with the abolition of taxation, we could expect this figure to rise since people would have more money to give. Even if charity remained unchange, I submit that$ 120 billion by itself is plenty to care for the truly needy - mainly children and the severely handicapped - who can' t help themselves. True, there would no longer be a tax break for charity, but all of us would have so much more disposable income to give, along with the knowledge that we personally, rather than the government, are responsible forgiving the riches needed to right the wrongs that we perceive in the world. As an economist, I am sure that many people will say that government is absolutely necessary to supply" public goods" - goods that benefit everyone, even though it is impossible to charge for them. What is puzzling is that the same people who normally find economists' reasoning narrow and unrealistic find this argument so convincing.

National defense is the best example - the military protects us all, even those who don' t pay. - the argument assumes that people utterly lack any moral sense, any willingness to do their fair share voluntarily, just because they think that that is the proper way to behave. They have a moral sense. Flesh - and - blood human beings are not" economic men, " interested solely in maximizing their personal wealth. It may not be wise not to rely on someone' s moral sense too heavily. But suppose we take an extremely pessimistic view of our fellow human beings.

But all that we need to enjoy the voluntary provision of public goods is for some reasonable percentage of people to willingly donate some reasonable fraction of their time or income. - even then, there is an inner contradiction in public goods theory. Because if you create a government to solve the public goods problem, you create a new public goods problem: the public good of controlling the government. Why? Everyone benefits if the government stays within its appointed bounds, even those who don' t take any effort to keep their government in line. This is hardly an academic in the twentieth century tens of millions of people have been murdered by their own out - of - control governments.

And if you take such a dim view of human nature, can you expect politicians to be any better? - in sum, government isn' t any solution to the public goods problem, because it is the primary instance of the problem. If you can convince them, government isn' t necessary. The only real solution is to convince people to voluntarily do the right thing. If you can' t, government will just magnify the problem. Our century' s grim history of political barbarity makes one hesitate to choose the former. Or to express the problem slightly differently: you must determine who you trust more to voluntarily do the right thing: politicians, or the public at large.

Morally, taxation is unjust. - yet taxation is unlikely to disappear in the near future. Practically, it is unnecessary. So what is the right thing to do in the meanwhile? But it is his duty, to wash his, at least hands of it, and if he gives it no thought longer, not to give it practically his support. " Which means: Don' t work for the IRS, never support higher taxes on anything, and never let anyone pretend that you pay taxes of your own free will. Thoreau' s advice is again sound: "It is not a man' s duty' s to devote himself to the eradication of any, even the most enormous wrong.

Taxation is always theft, and the more people hear this insight repeated, the sooner they' ll see taxation for what it is.

Law Firm Marketing Secret Stay Connected With Current And Former Clients

Business.

How top attorneys use these hidden practices to fill their practice, part three - in the previous two articles we discussed how top attorneys use a proven system to build powerful relationships with strategic referral partners, financial planners, like cpas, bankers, and other lawyers to market their law firm. In this third part of the series we will focus on ways to keep in touch with your clients to obtain repeat business and generate more and better referrals for your law firm. We also covered several ways you can use the internet to market and grow your law practice.

The third strategy top attorneys use for law firm marketing is to stay connected with their current and former clients. - after working with over 6, 000 lawyers to help them build financially successful and personally satisfying law practices, i have found many of them do not have relationships with their clients. Law Firm Marketing Secret Stay Connected With Current and Former Clients. All they have is a series of transactions that they handled for their clients. It is more than just handling their estate planning documents or filing a personal injury lawsuit for them. A true client - attorney relationship is meaningful, long - term and influential. To build a true relationship with your clients you need to stay connected with them.

If you' re like most attorneys, you have helped hundreds of people over the years, so staying connected to them every 4 - 8 weeks can be an overwhelming task, unless you know how to leverage technology and automate the process. - and since the best source of referrals is a satisfied client, you need to be sure your clients remember you when one of their friends or colleagues needs your help. Here are a few tips we recommend for building meaningful, and long, influential - term relationships with your clients: Use a database management program. Information is only as useful as it is accessible. Have your assistant enter their contact info into a database program like ACT! , Goldmine or Salesforce. com. Collect their email addresses. Send out a Keep In Touch letter to former clients thanking them for the opportunity to serve them.

Add a place for their email addresses on your intake form. - conduct an annual client satisfaction survey( this is a good activity for the end of the year) . Offer them a special report or Top 10 Tips sheet and request they update their contact information. Ask them what they liked most and least about your firm as well as what upcoming challenges you could assist them with. Send them practical, educational information every 4 - 6 weeks. Make them short. Electronic newsletters, called e - zines, are the best way to stay connected.

Focus on informing, educating and adding value to your clients( do not turn this into a sales pitch) . - be creative when thinking up ways to stay connected to your clients, but above all be consistent. We recommend Constant Contact to manage your e - zine. A few months ago I used a business attorney to create an independent contractor' s agreement for me. I honestly had not even thought about him since the last time I hired him, but because he stayed in touch with the birthday card I immediately sent him another piece of work, creating an operating agreement for a new company I was starting. He recently sent me a birthday card with a short handwritten note in it( I don' t even recall where he learned what my birthday was) .

The first piece of business was for less than$ 3, 000, but by the time this matter is finished it will be closer to$ 10, 000 more. - take a minute and write down 2 things you can do in the next 30 days to touch base with your top 10 clients. All because he stayed in touch! In the fourth part of this series we will cover ways to create a Unique Competitive Advantage for your law practice, which answers the question, Why should I hire you versus your competition?

My Youngest One Would Like To Get A Degree In Business

Business.

How to opt for suitable business school admission - have you ever stopped to think about the twists and turns your life makes? In the years I attended college I had so many big plans to make huge differences in our social service system through my profession as a social worker.

I have been reflecting more on this lately, I believe it is because my youngest is going to college and I am getting close to a milestone birthday. - i fear i have become part of the system after twenty five years and now i count the years and months to get retired. My youngest one would like to get a degree in business. My oldest son has joined the army by following in his father' s footsteps. Most of the past year he has been preparing for business school admission. My brother - in - law has offered to help him with the business school admission because he has been very successful in the insurance business. Neither my husband nor I have been able to help him because we do not have any background in business.

Since this is a very competitive area and we are finding that it is one of those situations that who you know can have a good impact on getting in. - two of them are recognized for their school of business. There are many colleges and universities that are within one hundred miles from our home. Our son believes it is really important in such a competitive field, to have his degree from one of the top ranked schools. The business school admission is a complicated procedure that I do not fully understand. He was given this information from his guidance counselor and my brother - in - law agrees.

Until he completes his general education classes, my son will not be in the business school. - a priority is given to those students that receive their general education at the same university. The grades he gets in his general education classes plus the recommendations from professors will help him get into the business school. So even though the cost of tuition for the general education classes is higher at this school than the university closest to us, he has decided that he wants to go there. To help him pay for the cost of his education, my husband and I are just going to have to put off our retirement for a couple more years. I am in agreement that he should get his entire education from one school because I have heard many stories about credits not transferring from one university to another.

Maybe if he is successful enough he will support us in our retirement.

Therefore The System Gets To Use Much More Of The Gasoline

Business.

Hydrogen gas in your fuel mix will save you money - if you are looking for a way to get reduced gas consumption, then you may want to consider purchasing a gas engine fuel saver( also known as hydrogen gas saver in this case) . These fuel savers have helped them do it. - it should create a noticeable difference in the amount of mileage that you are able to get as well as the money that you are able to save. A gas engine fuel saver is a generator that you install in your engine to save fuel, and to improve the overall performance of your system. These generators are actually able to be installed by you. If you purchase a hydrogen gas saver, it should include detailed instructions to help ensure your success. So, you don' t have to pay costly installation fees.

Once installed, it is like you have the results of making your car a hybrid, but for far less than the cost of actually purchasing a brand new hybrid car. - be sure to keep your car tuned up and your spark plugs checked. You will also benefit with cleaner emissions, smoother and more, a quieter powerful running engine in addition to significant savings on gas. By following these two tips to save gas, you should really make a difference with your car. To make sure that it is clear. Spark plugs that don' t work efficiently are said to lower your car' s fuel efficiency by up to 30 percent. WATER4GAS is offering information for a nominal fee which folks can use at home to create a small device which infuses hydrogen into the gasoline/ air mixture that their vehicle runs on.

Therefore the system gets to use much more of the gasoline. - the process makes bite sized particles out of the ones that the system uses as fuel. By doing this you can minimumly expect to improve your MPG by 30 - 50% or even more. But with WATER4GAS they are made consumable so you can improve your MPG. Those particles" musta" been pretty" blankin' " huge in some systems before. It also helps to lower emissions significantly.

So how about you? - this package of info has been purchased by over 9000 individuals already and the percentage of happy customers is about 99% !

I Tried To Go Back To The Other Channels Once And I Just Couldn' T Do It

Business.

My husband and his hdtv - my loved one is a gigantic ufc fan. I get a little angry since I think the money is a bit outrageous for a game that only last two hours. He will pay the$ 25 for the HD version of the pay per view games whenever they are on.

Nonetheless, I love my husband and if he wants HD for his games. fine. - he informed me that the picture was so much more vivid and true looking when he watched it on hd. I once asked him why he didn' t want to save$ 10 and get the standard picture one. I decided to test this for myself since I am an avid watcher of our HDTV. I started watching my programs like" Dirty Jobs" and" A Baby Story" on those channels instead of the regular ones. I browsed several of the HD channels and found out that we had HDTBS and HD History. I must admit the HD channels were much more pleasing to the eye on my HDTV than the others were.

I tried to go back to the other channels once and I just couldn' t do it. - everything was so much brighter and the color was so much truer than with the other channels. I craved the better ones! I am so happy that I backed down, I guess it was time. One day my spouse came into the room and without even asking he said, "I see you have finally backed down and you' re watching the better picture quality. " I didn' t reply because I knew he was right and I should have let myself see what he meant when he just had to have the fight for$ 4 Sometimes you have to listen to your spouse because he truly does know what he is talking about with electronics. So now that I am all excited about this new tv watching experience, my spouse told me something else that excited me.

I can watch" Nip/ Tuck" and" ER" in a completely new way. - on february 17, all stations will, 2009 be transmitting high quality signals, which mean all of my shows will look as great as these do. Anyway, the reason I am writing this is for all of you girls or guys who haven' t gave these channels a chance. It' s surprising what technology has done with televisions and I am excited to see what the future has in store. I thought there was no difference at first too but now I am hooked.

And You Can Put Those Hours In When And Where You Want To And Deduct Many Of Your Expenses On Your Income Tax Return

Business.

Is one job enough? - the vast majority of american wage and salary workers today fall into the middle class. The federal minimum wage is still stuck at an amazingly low$ 15 per hour, providing half a million minimum - wage workers with less than$ 12, 000 a year. That means an annual income of somewhere between$ 30, 000 and$ 50, 000 - before deductions for social security, federal and state( and sometimes city) income tax, health insurance, Medicare( if you' re lucky enough to be offered it) , and a 401K plan.

One Way Out. - it' s called" moonlighting. " sounds romantic, doesn' t it? Given these figures, it is not difficult to see why one in 17 Americans, or about 5 million, work two or more jobs. Minimum - wage earners moonlight just so they can pay the rent and put food on the table. Some moonlighters' extra jobs are part - time, but others work two full - time jobs, or three part - time jobs or some other combination. Middle - income workers cite different reasons, such as. - to attain a higher standard of living. - to pay off debt. - to save for a home. - to save for the future - their children' s education, their own retirement. Obviously, it can be pretty stressful.
